Meet Sara

My name is Sara and I am a registered social worker in Manitoba, Alberta & Saskatchewan.  I was born and raised in Manitoba, in a small community called Cooks Creek. I was raised in a hardworking and fun-loving family which is a reflection of the person I am today. 

Overall, I love working with children, teens, adults, couples, and families! I have extensive experience in the area of family services; but my areas of interests do not stop there! I’m very passionate in the areas of grief and loss and am  working towards my certification in maternal mental health. 

I have been told by many people that I’m not a typical social worker. I try my best to treat everyone like they are part of my family. Therefore I do utilize an client centered approach in practice. I do understand, that life is complicated and full of road blocks and detours! But I just want to help navigate those road blocks alongside with you.  

My “Why” 

Early on in my life, my dad died leaving my mom to raise me and my sister. That experience has taught me so much about myself and my family. Through this experience, I learned to value both my personal and my family strength. This process has taught me the stages of  grief and loss an individual has and everlasting impact it can have on oneself and their life. For me, this was my defining moment and has been my own guiding light of being compassionate and understanding towards all individual needs. At the end of day, I do believe we all have the power to create change in our lives and we don’t have to do it alone.
